Male Great horned owl (Bubo virginianus) refuses to interrupt his sunrise hooting display for a pair of indignant Cooper's hawks (Accipiter cooperii). Owl predation accounts for more than a half of mortality of Cooper’s hawk’s nestlings; they get picked up directly from their nests in the middle of night.
